Telemetry buoy

Check out our data from an inductive mooring of sixteen (16) SBE 37IM Microcats

Information available for M368 from May 18-July 8, 2005:
    • Buoy position (Telemetry buoy was retrieved on September 15, 2005)

The mooring is part of an initiative of the Rapid Climate Change-Meridional Overturning Circulation (RAPID-MOC) Programme to establish a pre-operational prototype system that will continuously observe the strength and structure of the MOC in the Atlantic. Overview of data from the monitoring array at 26.5°N and description of the instrumentation and telemetry system in use (Data download facility is restricted to project participants only)

For information on the Meridional Overturning Circulation and Heat Flux Array (MOCHA), a collaborative project between B. Johns, M. Baringer (NOAA-AOML) and L. Beal to measure the meridional overturning circulation and ocean heat transport in the North Atlantic Ocean, visit the MOCHA website.
