About Me

Less explored Carbonate Cave in Postojnska, Slovenia.

after completing my first geology class. These interests were further developed when I went to University Miami in the summer of 2006 and worked with Dr. Robert Ginsburg, eventually developing my senior research thesis.

When I am not being a graduate student, I enjoy going SCUBA diving, rock climbing, and going to the beach. I love to travel, and have been to interesting places in Europe and the Caribbean. Additionally, I enjoy playing music, going to concerts, and generally being outside.

My college education began in 2000 at the University of Rochester, where I studied optical engineering. In 2005, I transferred to the University of Maryland and switched to Electrical Engineering. I eventually found that I enjoyed working outside more and switched majors. I received my Bachelors of Science from the University of Maryland Geology Department in August 2007. While at Maryland, I also worked at the Isotope Geochemistry Laboratory.

My interests in Marine Geology began when I got SCUBA certified at Little Cayman Island in August 2005,
