Björn Lund, Ph.D.

Research Assistant.

Björn Lund I received a Diplom Umweltwissenschaften (environmental sciences) degree from the University of Lüneburg, Germany, in 2006. During my studies and after graduation I worked in the Software Department at OceanWaveS GmbH, Lüneburg, where I was involved in several national and international research projects on marine X-band radar applications (2002-2007). Thanks to my experiences at OceanWaveS, I was offered a position as Visiting Researcher at University of Miami's Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science (UM-RSMAS), where I worked on the development of algorithms to extract wind, internal wave, current, and surface wave information from shipborne marine radar data (2007-2009). Having decided to continue my career in science, I joined the UM-RSMAS Ph.D. program in Applied Marine Physics, from which I graduated in 2012. Today, I work as Research Assistant in the Applied Marine Physics division at UM-RSMAS. My current research focuses on marine radar remote sensing and air-sea interaction processes.
