The RSMAS Library use policies are designed to provide a safe, comfortable, and functional facility that meets the needs of library patrons.

To serve all our patrons - students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community users - we ask for your assistance in helping to:

    Create a safe environment

All UM students, faculty, administrators, and staff must present a Cane Card to enter the RSMAS Library.

Other authorized users must present appropriate documentation and identification.

Maintain a climate conductive for research and learning

Out of courtesy and consideration for other Library users, please turn off beepers, pagers and cell phones. Make all cell phone calls outside the RSMAS Library.

Children 12 years old and under must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times. Due to the absence of filtering software on University computers, children are not allowed to use the library computer workstations.

Foster a comfortable and clean atmosphere

Patrons may consume soft drinks in the library and study areas. To help prevent spills and to keep the library clean, please use beverage containers with lids or caps and properly dispose of containers.

Beverages should not be consumed at computer workstations, as well as the copy room and are prohibited in the Rare Book Room.

Smoking and the use of tobacco-related products are prohibited in the RSMAS Library.
