Advancement Office

The Advancement Office at the University of Miami's Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science is responsible for developing support for the School. The Assistant Dean and her staff work towards initiating and maintaining relationships with foundations, corporations, and individuals. These connections help provide support for research activities, capital improvements, and educational programs at the school.

The Advancement team also works closely with scientists and administration to generate proposals and solicitations that meet the donors' interests and needs. We encourage our donors to experience the science that they help to fund. We make an effort to update our support network frequently and promote feedback from the researchers to the donors so that their funding becomes experiential as well as gratifying. Additionally, the Advancement office guides donors in planned giving, establishing endowments, setting up annuities, memorials and honorary funds.

Under the large umbrella of the Advancement office falls Alumni and Outreach (for more information on Alumni please click on the link). Our Outreach program works at getting the name of the school out to the community and educating them about our oceans and atmosphere.

Sea Secrets
Rosenstiel School and the Ocean Research and Education Foundation host a lecture series each year for local residents to meet distinguished scientists and explorers and to learn more about our blue planet through evening programs specifically designed for the South Florida non-scientific community.
