Existing Client
Apple Mail
Follow these instructions if you are running Apple OS X 10.6 or later. Click here if you are running 10.5.
Snow Leopard (10.6) and Higher
Open Apple Mail.
Then go to the top left and click on Mail → Preferences and click on the + to create a new account.

Enter your email username and password (C-number with a capital C). You need to append @rsmas.miami.edu to your username.

Apple Mail will auto-discover our Exchange server. Click on Create to set up your account.

Change the Internal Server and External Serverc to exchange.rsmas.miami.edu. Click on another main tab, e.g. RSS and you will be prompted to save the current settings.

The mail will begin to load, give it 2–5 minutes to load depedending on the size of your inbox. If you dont see mail in that time, opening and closing Apple Mail will refresh it.
Mac OS X 10.5 Instructions
Open Apple Mail.
Then go to the top left and click on Mail → Preferences and click on the + to create a new account.

Enter username@rsmas.miami.edu, leave the password field blank. Click Continue.

Select the Account Type as IMAP from the dropdown choices. Type RSMAS IMAP in the Description field. This is just a label to differentiate one mail account from another. The Incoming Mail Server is mail.rsmas.miami.edu. Fill in the User Name and Passwords fields. Your password is your C-number with a capital “C”. Click Continue.

Outgoing Mail Server
For Description type RSMAS SMTP. This is just a label to differentiate one outgoing mail server from another. The Outgoing Mail Server is mail.rsmas.miami.edu. Click Use Authentication. Type in your email user name and password (C-number with a capital “C”). Click Continue.

Outgoing Mail Security
Select Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and re-enter your email user name and password. Click Continue and you’re done.
