Marine Department

The Rosenstiel School Marine Operations Department is responsible for the operation, maintenance and support of the F.G. Walton Smith, an advanced research catamaran designed for tropical oceanography. This vessel is operated as part of the University National Laboratory System (UNOLS). The Marine Department also houses a Shipboard Technical Support Group, which provides marine technical support for UM and other UNOLS vessel operators.
