Explorer of the Seas

After more than seven years of operation, the University of Miami's Oceanographic and Atmospheric Laboratory Program aboard the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line Explorer of the Seas is being completely retooled. The university, in collaboration with its partners is exploring innovative new technologies to enable fully autonomous environmental observations aboard voluntary observing vessels. The Explorer of the Seas would serve as the prototype and test bed for this new approach. In the meantime shipboard observations aboard the Explorer of the Seas have been temporarily suspended. All prior data has been archived and requests for that data should be made to Elizabeth Williams.
