Teams Up with Rosenstiel School
Lecture to Focus on Important Climate Clues Found in Underwater Caves
VIRGINIA KEY, FLA. (Apr. 15, 2008) — The Key Biscayne Community Foundation and the University of Miami’s Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science present a free, educational lecture program entitled: “Exploring Bahamas Underground: A Window Into the Past and Opportunities for the Future” by Dr. Kenneth Broad, assistant professor of Marine Affairs and Policy at the Rosenstiel School. With unique visual imagery Broad will illustrate how, utilizing cutting-edge cave diving techniques, scientists are recovering critical geological, biological, and climate information that are helping them to reconstruct the past, and learn lessons to aid us in natural resource management in the future. This event is free and open to all Key Biscayne residents; however seating is limited.
