Welcome to my website. Currently a graduate student at the University of Miami, I grew up just outside of St. Paul, MN and earned a bachelors degree from Creighton University. I have a beautiful new wife and a somewhat disturbingly overweight cat. Decidedly different than the Midwest, I am enjoying my time here in Miami as I learn about the atmosphere and also the Latin culture. I enjoy the local beaches and try to get out scuba diving as much as I can.
My thesis work centers on the evaluation of physical processes that drive the North American Monsoon - an important climatological feature of NW Mexico and the SW US. Using model output together with observational data, I strive to better understand the important processes that govern the local land - atmosphere interaction cycle and to connect deficiencies in the ability to simulate these 1-D processes with 3-D seasonal forecast errors. If this sounds interesting, I invite you to look at my Research page. |
