My research is about the MJO initiation. I am currently using WRF, as a channel model for the tropics. The WRF has been ran for 4 MJO events and a 5-year model run (2000-2004) with all the cumulus parameterizations available in WRF plus BM (MM5). The resolution of the model is 1degree (N-S) and (E-W), with 28 vertical levels. As initial conditions for the model we use NCEP/NCAR Final Reanalysis, but we want to move forward to ERA-Interim data.
