Work Experience
August 2005-May 2006; University of Georgia, Department of Geology; Athens, GA
Teaching Assistant
Taught introductory geology labs to assist in the teaching load of the department. In spring of 2006, acted as the lab coordinator for Geology 1121 lab in addition to teaching lab sections.

January 2006-May 2006; Ground-Water Services, Inc.; Kennesaw, GA
Field Assistant
This was a water well location service that uses resistivity to locate probable sources of groundwater in fractured rock aquifers. Performed both resistivity profiles and soundings to locate anomalies corresponding to possible sources of groundwater.

May2005-July2005; February 2001-May 2002; The Princeton Review; Atlanta, GA
Instructor
Taught the Physics portion of a MCAT prep class, monitored practice test in Athens, and conducted MCAT strategy sessions in Athens.

January 2003-May 2003; University of Georgia, Department of Geology; Athens, GA
Student Worker
Prepared rocks for thin sections, preformed mineral separations for geochronology analysis, and processed rock samples for mineral separation preparation.

September 2000-May 2001; UGA Department of Physics and Astronomy; Athens, GA
Work-Study Research
Worked with professors in the department on various theoretical research projects and experiments. Performed experiments to determine the luminescent properties of Mn ions doped in nanometer-scale ZnS crystals. Used a gated photon counter to measure the intensity of the light emitted by exciting samples of nanocrystals using a pulsed laser.

June 1998-May 2001; McNally and Patrick, Inc.; Lawrenceville, GA
AutoCAD Operator / Field Crew
Worked in the field and in the office for this land surveying and engineering company. Used AutoCAD to create and make revisions on drawing for road and land development projects. Used C&G for AutoCAD to create cross-sections for road projects. Experience working in the field on a surveying crew primarily on road construction projects. Used a digital theodolite instrument along with a coordinate geometry program to perform road layout.
