06/14 - Present: Professor and Chair, Department of Atmospheric Sciences, Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science. Ongoing research on the inner-core dynamics of hurricanes and tornadoes; the effects of climate change on hurricane frequency and intensity; development of the Weather Research and Forecast (WRF) model for tropical cyclone research and forecasting; dynamics of convection in the equatorial regions; undergraduate and graduate instruction in meteorology. Supervision and planning for a new university department of 11 faculty and over 35 students.
