Dr. Evans' focus of research is to develop quantitative methods that permit timely access to satellite remote-sensing observations of transient events in the ocean, using imaging infrared sensors and multi-spectral infrared and color scanner observations. He continues evolutionary development of processing and analysis capabilities with the goal being generation of long-term time series of oceanic mesoscale variability.
