National Ocean Science Bowl
The NOSB is a nationally recognized and highly acclaimed high school academic competition that provides a forum for talented students to test their knowledge of the marine sciences including biology, chemistry, physics, and geology. The Rosenstiel School, along with Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute host the Florida regional competition, the Manatee Bowl, yearly.

With Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institution, the Rosenstiel School annually hosts the National Ocean Sciences Bowl (NOSB) Florida Regional Competition — “Jeopardy”-like competition to test students’ knowledge of math and science. This year the Manatee Bowl will take place in Miami, at MAST Academy (MAST) and the University of Miami’s Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science (RSMAS).

Friday, December 14
- Registration Closes.
Friday, February 22
- Check-in, 3:00–5:00pm, RSMAS Science and Administration Building, SLAB 130.
- Welcome dinner, 5:00pm, RSMAS Courtyard
- Introduction and Q&A session, 6:00pm, RSMAS Auditorium
Saturday, February 23
- Breakfast, 8:00am, MAST cafeteria
- Round-robin competition, MAST classrooms
- Lunch, MAST cafeteria
- Double elimination competition, MAST classrooms
- Final round and award ceremony, MAST Auditorium
The winning team will continue on to compete at Nationals against 24 other teams, Thursday — Sunday, April 18–21, 2013 in Milwaukee, WI.
