Bader Lecture Series
Each year, renowned researchers from the Rosenstiel School select one scientist who is leading the way in their respective field. The scientist is invited to spend three days in residence at the Rosenstiel School, where they interact with faculty, and help advise the next generation of talented scientists. Each invited guest presents two lectures; one generally aimed at the entire faculty and student body of the School, and another geared toward conveying the excitement and beauty of science to high school students.
The Bader Lecture is an annual event, which began in 2000. G.J. and Naomi O. Wasserburg endowed the Henri and Adele Bader Lectureship at Rosenstiel School to honor Henri Bader, the famous glaciologist. The divisions of meteorology and physical oceanography, applied marine physics, and marine geology and geophysics take turns each year selecting the Bader lecturer.
