Matthew Davis (M.S. 1995, MAC)
Matthew Davis is the Chief of the Wetland and Forest Resources Section at Miami-Dade County’s Department of Environmental Resources Management. His section is involved in Everglades restoration, wetland mitigation planning, land management and the administration of wetland restoration grant program. The section is also responsible for the permitting, compliance and regulation of freshwater wetlands and Natural Forest Community Uplands.
Matthew received a B.S. From the University of Miami, with majors in marine science and chemistry. He received his M.S. from the Rosenstiel School in marine and atmospheric chemistry in 1995. He traveled to both Greenland and Antarctica to pursue data for his thesis on climate change records from polar ice cores. As an alum, he served as President of the Rosenstiel School Alumni Association Board.
