MIAMI — Voting in the inaugural “Fan Favorite” category of the Rosenstiel School’s Annual Underwater Photography Contest is underway. Five photos are going head to head for next seven days, in the newest addition to the popular contest, which has grown significantly since its creation in 2005. Voters are able to cast one vote per day until April 8 at 11:59p.m. The five photos were selected from among more than 750 entries from around the world. Cast your vote on the Rosenstiel School’s official blog for your favorite!

The annual underwater photography contest is open to all amateur photographers who earn no more than 20 percent of their income from photography. This year’s winners will be announced at the Rosenstiel School’s popular Sea Secrets Lecture on April 18. During this free lecture, Stan Waterman, one of the true pioneers of the shark diving community, will share mind-blowing tales, as well as clips from his extraordinary marine life videos that have garnered five Emmy® Awards. A reception and exhibit immediately after the lecture will take place on the Rosenstiel campus to recognize the winners of the 2012 Underwater Photo Contest, which now includes the ‘Fan Favorite’ category.
