Wiggins Joins Staff of UM’s Rosenstiel School

MIAMI — April 15, 2011 — The University of Miami (UM) Rosenstiel School of Marine & Atmospheric Science announced today that it has hired Cassandra Wiggins to serve as Human Resources (HR) and Faculty Affairs Manager for the school. She will be responsible for employee relations, including faculty affairs, and internal communications to a staff of 578 members.
Wiggins developed and implemented a comprehensive HR program at Florida Memorial University (including benefits administration, recruitment, talent management, conflict resolution, performance and succession planning, training, organizational development and compliance, among others. She was also essential in assisting the University’s Provost in establishing and managing faculty affairs, for nine years. For the last four years, she has served as Assistant Vice President (HR Officer) for Ocean Bank, a regional bank with 21 branches and 650 employees, where she provided leadership in all HR aspects of the institution.
A graduate of St. Thomas University, Wiggins holds a Masters of Science Management in Human Resources, and she holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of South Florida. Wiggins is a member of the Society of Human Resource Professionals and the National Association of African Americans in Human Resources.
