Dr. Brian Haus Discusses How Waves Form, Propagate, Distribute Energy

In the aftermath of Japan’s 8.9-magnitude earthquake and the accompanying tsunami, scientists are trying to better understand this natural phenomena and prepare more effectively for these types of events in the future. Dr. Brian Haus from the University of Miami's Rosenstiel School of Marine & Atmospheric Science studies wave interactions both with the atmosphere and with the underwater topography in high wind situations using the School's Air-Sea Interaction Saltwater Tank (ASIST).
