Apparently this didn't come through because of a picture that last two times. Sorry for the late notice!

Special guest seminar:

Dr. David Kline
 Scripps Institute of Oceanography

"Will Coral Reefs Dissolve in a High CO2 Future?"
Increasing atmospheric CO2 is already causing ocean acidification (OA) and ocean warming. In this talk I will present research from a long-term warming and acidification mesocosm experiment and from an in situ OA experiment with the Coral Proto - Free Ocean Carbon Enrichment system (CP-FOCE) on Heron Island, Great Barrier Reef, Australia. In these studies I attempt to determine if coral reefs will continue to grow under the conditions predicted for the future or if they will begin dissolving.

Friday, Jan. 25th
2:00pm
