1:30pm TODAY - SPECIAL INFORMAL DISCUSSION: Potential impa
With so much focus on the impending impact of Hurricane Sandy on the NE US, we have organized an informal discussion today about the storm from a meteorological and historical perspective.

Several HRD scientists (Mike Black, John Kaplan, Sim Aberson and maybe Gopal and others) will discuss their insights about some of the latest observations and the potential impacts as this storm makes landfall.  (If you would also like to present something, please contact me ASAP.)

"When it got a little light, I looked out the window and I couldn't
see anything.  The wind was still blowing pretty hard so I waited a
while, then looked out again.  I still couldn't see anything.  I told
my wife, `there's some kind of fog. I can't see anything.'  Finally,
I realized there wasn't anything to see.  All of the trees were gone."
