Friends of the Greater Miami chapter of the AMS:
A reminder about next week, our next chapter meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 23rd at 3 PM.  It will be held in the first
floor conference room of AOML.  I will be presenting a talk entitled:
"They Called the Wind Mahina:
The History of Naming Cyclones"
During some related research I came across several interesting facts about this history which are not well known and thought I would
share them with our local weather community.  I will attempt to explain the connection between a dotty, 19th Century Englishman and
Mariah Carey.  Refreshments will be served 15 minutes prior to the talk.

We will be using GoToMeeting to open up the talk to our remote friends.  GoToMeeting can be accessed using this link:

For audio, join the HRD conference call line: 1-866-700-1361, passcode 491147.

Please use the conference call number for audio as we will not be activating the use of your computer mic and speakers using GoToMeeting.
