Summary:

 

The paper by this title published in JGR-Oceans in 1992  received the 2012 John Martin Award of the Association
for the Sciences of Limnology and Oceanography (ASLO) based on its high impact on research in the field.

 

This presentation will highlight the importance of this paper on the quantification of sea-air fluxes of carbon dioxide. 
It will include a historical perspective of the evolution of concepts, and improvements in the study of gas transfer
across the air-water interface over the past two decades.
