Title: "Archeological Resources and Cultural Resource Management at
Biscayne National Park"

Guest Speaker: Charles Lawson, NPS archeologist, Biscayne National Park

The talk will discuss the establishment of Biscayne NP as a National Monument and the National Park
Service mandates of preservation and recreation/education. It will give a  
cultural history of Biscayne NP, from prehistory through the colonial age of exploration, 
homesteading and agricultural use of the islands, to wealthy recreational retreats.
It will also discuss the challenges in the management of Biscayne's archaeological sites, 
the ongoing and recent project work and how it is driven by management needs.
