MAF SPECIAL SEMINAR SERIES When: Wednesday March 21, 2012 at 10:30 am Where: MSC 343 Title: Scientific Advances Towards Closing the Life Cycle of Bluefin Tuna (Thunnus thynnus) in Captivity Presenter: Prof. Dr. Christopher Robert Bridges, University of Düsseldorf, Germany and SELFDOTT (Self-Sustained Aquaculture and Domestication of Bluefin tuna, Thunnus thynnus) SELDOTT consists of an international consortium of 13 European partners whose aim has been to breed bluefin tuna in captivity and provide the basis for future ecologically sustainable aquaculture of this threatened species. Professor Bridges will present and discuss new technologies and techniques developed to harness the reproduction of this species and monitor fish in captivity.
