Title:  Gulf of Mexico red and gag grouper: modeling of complex life histories in a multispecies fishery.

Speaker: Dr. Tom Carruthers
Affiliation: Fisheries Centre, University of British Columbia

Abstract

There is evidence that protogynous hermaphrodites such as gag grouper exhibit ontogenetic shifts offshore that may have important implications for their management. How reliably can these life history characteristics be estimated from the data that are available and how can management strategies be identified that are robust to uncertainties in population dynamics and stock status?
