Title:  Integrating Fishery Management Strategies and Marine Reserves

Speaker: Carey McGilliard

Bio:
Carey McGilliard is currently completing her Ph.D at the University of Washington where she is supervised by Ray Hillborn. Carey earned a B.A. in mathematics at The College of Wooster in Ohio in 2000. She worked as a statistical programmer and researcher at The Urban Institute, a non-partisan social policy think tank and as a researcher in biophysical forcing and zooplankton ecology at University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science. Her current interests include spatial population dynamics models, statistics, management strategy evaluation, and management of data-poor species. Recently, she has explored whether marine reserves can be used to manage data-poor species and the influence of marine reserves on the performance of stock assessments.
