CSTAMP COLLOQUIUM ON SELECTED TOPICS OF APPLIED MARINE PHYSICS

SPEAKER
Rafael Ferreira
Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
 (guest of Roland Romeiser)

SAR remote sensing and hydrodynamic modeling
applied to the assessment of tidal current power sites

DATE
Friday, February 25, 2011

TIME
12:00 noon

VENUE
RSMAS, AMP seminar room MSC 125

Rafael Ferreira is a visiting PhD student / Fulbright fellow from Brazil who is spending 9 months at RSMAS to study the potential of using spaceborne SAR and InSAR imagery for the siting of turbines for electric power generation in coastal regions with strong tidal currents. He will give this seminar to introduce himself and his project to us and to present first results.

As always, all students are strongly encouraged to come.
