Hi everybody,
In tomorrow's (Wednesday) LUNCH BYTES student computing seminar: VAPOR

Do you want to make really cool looking 3D plots and animations of your data? Impress your advisor/coworkers/significant other? Its fun and easy with NCAR/UCAR's VAPOR software!
VAPOR = Visualization and Analysis Platform for Ocean, atmosphere and solar Researchers.
Its free, fast (as long as you have a graphics card) and easy to learn (considerably easier than plotting 3D in Matlab and a LOT faster). VAPOR works with many common data formats and analysis tools: binary, NetCDF, WRF output, NCL, IDL and more.
Here is a link to some sample plots: http://www.vapor.ucar.edu/gallery/index.php?id=general
And a quick video animation (not mine): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nluyQThAcmM

Time & place: Wednesday, Sept. 29, 12:00pm. - SA 114 (SLAB building)
