As many of you know, Russell "Rusty" Pfost, the Meteorologist in Charge of Miami's National Weather Service Forecast Office, will be retiring in early June. His colleagues at NWSFO/NHC will be throwing him a pizza party on June 3rd, but there are many more in the wider Miami weather community who would like recognize his 32 years of Government service and thank him for his efforts to promote weather awareness and the public safety. So we will be giving a luncheon in his honor on next Wednesday, June 2nd at 12:30 PM at the Rusty Pelican on Virginia Key. (Get it? Rusty Pfost at the Rusty Pelican.) If you would like to attend, please send me a note as I would like to give the restaurant a good head
count as soon as possible.
We will be ordering off of their regular menu, asking everyone to pay for their own meal and contributing a little bit more to cover Rusty's meal. (He likes lobster;) We will also be giving him a certificate of appreciation and you are welcome to bring your own tokens of esteem.
