All:I was recently on the phone with Alvin Samet, who was the radar specialist at NHC/NWSFO during the 1960s & 1970s, and he asked me to give a talk on the early days of hurricane research for a group called Miami Pioneers, who have an interest in the history of Dade County. Unfortunately, the date he gave me over the phone was different from the actual date of the meeting, which is Sunday June 6th at 2 PM. I will be out of town on that date and cannot give the talk, but I do not wish to leave the group hanging, especially since they've already sent out their newsletter listing the talk. Is there anyone who is willing to cover? I can supply a PowerPoint presentation on the topic or you might choose a subject
more in your area of expertise. Please, let me know ASAP as I must phone the group quickly, especially if I'm going to have to
cancel on them. Thank you.
