- In-Situ Ichthyoplankton Imaging System (ISIIS):
This system is currently under development in collaboration with Bellamare LLC. Click here for more information
- Double Multiple Opening Closing Net and Environmental Sensing System:
This system was developed and constructed by the staff and students in collaboration with Biological Environmental Sensing Systems Inc. and Bellamare LLC . It is composed of two sub sytems (4 m2 and 1 m2 net sets) adjoined together and working in synchronization. This sampling equipment was design to allow for the concurrent investigation of fine-scale distribution of fish larvae and their potential prey. The mesh size is different on each side (1000 um and 150 um) with a view to catch a broad size range of organisms while optimizing the catch of larger fish larvae and eliminating unnecessary large samples of zooplankton.

- 20-Processor Cluster (10 workstations linked by Ethernet):
Each workstation is equipped with 2 AMD-Athlon processors, 1GB of main memory, and 30 GB of storage. The cluster is used for efficient simulations of larval transport, primarily in dedicated mode (1 process per processor). Nodes from the cluster can also be used for hosts with access on the internet. This particular instrument is used for effective similations of larval dispersal using biophysical models developed in the lab.
