Dr. Rooth's research interests widely cover oceanic and atmos-pheric processes, with a common application of theoretical fluid mechanics. Interests include representation of deep circulation processes and their causes in global numerical models. Example, oceanic invasion by trace contaminants from human activities can be used for testing transport and circulation theories and models. Another area of study is intensive air-sea interactions with biological impact in coastal and open ocean settings.
