MGG 550 - Mathematical Methods for Geoscientists, Prof. Julie Hood

Goals:

This course consists of a review of trigonometry, calculus, vector calculus, complex numbers; an introduction to linear algebra and matrix theory.

Material:

Topics include least squares and linear inverse problems in the earth sciences, Fourier and time series analysis, probability and statistics, and differential and partial differential equations of geophysics.
