President: Erica Rule
Erica Rule is the Outreach and Public Relations Coordinator for NOAA's Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory located on Virginia Key. As a part of her role in communicating AOML's research programs and accomplishments, Erica regularly collaborates with members of the Rosenstiel School community, particularly in areas of hurricane research and coastal observing programs. Erica received her M.A. in Marine Affairs and Policy from the Rosenstiel School in 1999 after completing an internship at the Consortium for Oceanographic Research and Education in Washington D.C.
Vice President: Jennifer Schull
Jennifer Schull is a Fishery Biologist at the National Marine Fisheries Service working in the office of Science Planning and Coordination. Previous research has focused on the distribution and abundance of Goliath grouper, Epinephelus itajara, in the Ten Thousand Islands area of Southwest Florida as well as general grouper ecology and monitoring fish populations along the Florida Reef Tract. Jennifer received her M.A. in Marine Affairs from the Rosenstiel School in 2000 studying aquaculture, non-indigenous species impacts, and cultural anthropology.
Secretary: Jenny Litz
Jenny Litz is a Fishery Biologist at the National Marine Fisheries Service working in the Marine Mammal Program. Her research is focused on marine mammal strandings, health, and stock structure in southeast U.S. waters. Jenny was the 2001 RSMAS Alumni Fellowship recipient and received her Ph.D. in Marine Biology and Fisheries from the Rosenstiel School in 2007. Her dissertation investigated the social structure, genetic structure, and organohalogen pollutants in bottlenose dolphins in Biscayne Bay, FL.
Past President: Matthew Davis
Matthew Davis is the Chief of the Wetland and Forest Resources Section at Miami-Dade County's Department of Environmental Resources Management. His section is involved in Everglades restoration, wetland mitigation planning, land management and the administration of wetland restoration grant program. The section is also responsible for the permitting, compliance and regulation of freshwater wetlands and Natural Forest Community Uplands.
Matthew received a B.S. From the University of Miami, with majors in marine science and chemistry. He received his M.S. From Rosenstiel School in marine and atmospheric chemistry in 1995. He traveled to both Greenland and Antarctica to pursue data for his thesis on climate change records from polar ice cores.
