I graduated with both my bachelor and master degrees from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). My focus was in phytoplankton ecology and its relation to the water chemistry in lakes and rivers. After working a lot in the field, I really fell in love with the nature. I’m amazed with the changes of plankton biodiversity by changes of water chemistry. It makes me understand that water chemistry is fundamental to determine the quality of an ecosystem. Therefore, I want to study more about the interactions between water chemistry and aquatic organisms. Then I got a scholarship from USM and given the opportunity to study abroad. I started to look for advisor and I’m happy to work with Martin Grosell. He is one of the experts in animal physiology and his experience really inspires me. My research is focus on interactions between copper metal and water salinity in a comparative study of fish and crabs.
